मेहतानी अनेक वर्ष गुजराती थिएटरमध्ये काम केले. नेहानी 2001 मध्ये झी टीवी चॅनेलवरील सीरियल डॉलर बहू पासून आपले भारतीय टेलीविजन करियर शसुरु केले. 2002 ते 2008 पर्यंत तिने स्टार प्लसवर टिव्ही मालिका भाभीमध्ये प्रमुख भूमिका केली. 28 जुलै 2008 पासून नेहा टीव्हीवरील मालिका तारक मेहता का उल्टा चश्मामधे अंजली मेहताची भूमिका साकारत आहे ची सध्याची सर्वात दीर्घ टेलिव्हिजन मालिका आहे. अंजली मेहता, कथाकारची पत्नी आणि ताराक मेहता मालिकेत मुख्य चरित्र आहे.
तारक मेहता शोवर नेहा मेहताची एका भागासाठी घेते इतकी फी : वृत्तानुसार नेहा मेहता या मालिकेच्या एका भागासाठी सुमारे 35 ते 40 हजार रुपये घेते. ती महिन्यातून फक्त 15 दिवस शूट करते. रिपोर्ट्सनुसार नेहा कडे ऑडी आणि बीएमडब्ल्यूसारख्या महागड्या गाड्या देखील आहेत. तारक मेहता शोमध्ये लग्न झालेली अंजली खऱ्या आयुष्यात अविवाहित आहे. एका मुलाखती दरम्यान तिने सांगितले की तिला लग्नाची घाई नाही. पण अंजली आपल्या भावी पतीबद्दल नक्कीच सांगते की तिला नात्याला गांभीर्याने घेणारा नवरा हवा आहे.
