MAHARASHTRA 14 NEWS, (27 June) : The Twelfth Convocation ceremony of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at 12 noon. Due to the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic and the various restrictions which have been imposed on, the ceremony will be attended by few dignitaries and students at the Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth’s auditorium. The other dignitaries, invitees, and students will participate in the ceremony virtually (online).
The ceremony will be presided by DPU Chancellor, Hon’ble. Dr. P. D. Patil and Pro-Chancellor, Hon’ble. Dr. Bhagyashreetai Patil, will grace the function. Vice-Chancellor Dr. N. J. Pawar, will present the Vidyapeeth Report. Secretary Hon’ble. Dr. Somnath Patil, Trustee Hon’ble. Dr. Smita Jadhav and Treasurer Hon’ble. Dr. Yashraj Patil will also be present.
The Chief Guest of this program will be Hon’ble. Dr. Dhirendra Pal Singh, Chairman, University Grants Commission, New Delhi. Padma Vibhushan Awardee Hon’ble. Dr. Jayant Narlikar (Emeritus Professor, The Inter-University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics,(IUCAA) and renowned educationist Hon. Prof. Ram Takwale, Chief Mentor, Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited, Former Vice-Chancellor – Pune University, Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi) will be honored with Degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) at the convocation ceremony.
Also, 22 students who have achieved excellence in various examinations of the University will be honored with gold medals, Degrees will be awarded to 1577 graduates in various disciplines, including 14 – Ph.D., 679 graduates, 874 Postgraduates, and 10 diplomas.
A live broadcast of the program has been organized so that everyone can participate.
